Services
We believe that God made human beings in his image and therefore every human being is invaluable. We therefore provide services to everyone equally with love and without judgement. You can learn about our services in greater detail below.
Emotional and Pastoral Support
Ella Fitzgerald and Bill Kennedy, performing as The Ink Spots, recorded a famous song on the 30th August 1944; “Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall”.
Our Chaplains are present in the City Centre for those who are presently experiencing some ‘rain’ in their life. Whether it is raining ‘stair rods’ or just a passing shower, very many people have found that being able to share in absolute confidence with a trained listener is a huge help. Our Chaplains are all volunteers, each one providing this service motivated by their compassion and desire to help others.
Life Together: City Centre Community
“A community is a group of peple who have come together. They work and they live and they try to improve their standard of living and quality of life – and I don’t mean money” (William Baldwin)
In a city where much effort is made to bring people together in residential communities, we believe it is very important to recognise that Belfast City Centre is a community. Those who work and live in the City Centre are key foundations of our community. Therefore, as an act of service to our community, we are planning some weekly ‘Life Together’ community times, including Sunday Brunch.
More details will be available on our social accounts.
Workplace Mediation
“Honest disagreement is often a good sign of progress” (Mahatma Gandhi)
While disagreement is a natural part of relationships, including those in work, sometimes the disagreeing parties need an outside neutral facilitator to help them reach agreement. If you find yourself in a workplace dispute, why not ask one of our Chaplains to help?
Workplace Fellowships
More and more churches are finding practical expression to the truth that ‘Church’ is not the building we meet in on Sunday, but the people who follow Jesus Christ. We are still ‘the Church’ wherever we are during the week.
Many Christians meet together with Christian colleagues in their workplaces on a regular basis. If you have an existing workplace fellowship, or with your employers permission you would like to being one, we would be delighted to help resource your meeting.
Donations
As a charity, we are not-for-profit and operate on a volunteering basis. When donating through Gift Aid, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give at no extra cost to yourself.
Your donation will help us recruit, train and send more chaplains into the areas of the city where there is the greatest need. It will also help us set up a Hub where people can come to confidentially ‘speak to a chaplain'.
